The Old Town of San Nicola Arcella

In spring and summer, it’s delightful to wander through the alleys of San Nicola Arcella’s historic center, where various lively squares are filled with tourists and passersby, along with artisan shops, cafés, restaurants, and places to exchange thoughts or enjoy a meal.

The historic center of San Nicola Arcella has been enriched with artistic creations that trace the evolution of this territory over the millennia through 17 stages (12 murals, 4 iron sculptures, and one special artistic installation). The project, born from a collaboration among local individuals, is named “Sinapsi Urbane” and has a dual purpose: to narratively explore the history of this land through guided walks, and to encourage visitors to wander the narrow streets and alleys, discovering the smells, colors, and typical habits of San Nicola Arcella.
